Update - Day 5 Part II

Today was a day full of cleaning, playing the new Pokemon game, decluttering, relaxing, reading 5 chapters of The Keeper of the Lost Cities, and crocheting 5 more rows.

I think double in length would be a good size.

I decided to let go of these books and miscellaneous items. That makes an additional 16 items to this month's challenge! (114+16 = 130)

My plan for this upcoming week is to crochet at least 21 more rows. Although realistically, I may not be able to finish the blanket by the end of November, I will keep going at it for December. I should be able to use up all of the yarn and finish in time by the holidays. I also plan to declutter some more. I was tempted to buy swatches of PUL fabric to make reusable zip snack bags. But, after a while with the slow website, I changed my mind and I'm glad I did. I don't need any new projects in my life at least while I still have all my old projects that I need to get done. 

 The book is going pretty well. The story is interesting with so many questions arising. I am at the part where Sophie has to be a part of the Elven world. I admire how unselfish she is, which makes me wonder what I would do if I were in her shoes.

 I'm going to try really hard to finish the crochet blanket and book before the weekend comes because I would really like to start the hat and scarf. I'll see you in the next post!

October 2020 Plans

      For this month's plans, I will be working on a few projects that I thought are really cool. They all turn out to be crocheting projects, but it's worth it, especially as the weather turns colder.     The first project is a gingham blanket, which I have always wanted to try, but never got around to it until now. I was amazed by the pattern that Daisy Farm Crafts, on YouTube, shared last year. I plan to use my three sets of Caron Simply Soft yarn to create it. I have 3 of each shade of blue and actually started it last week:   4 rows completed     I definitely need to work on the tension since this is my first time making this pattern, and I could already see some parts of the blanket as being looser than the beginning part. (I just placed it nicely in the picture so it wouldn't look so wonky.) I know I should have created a swatch first, but I couldn't wait to start. October Update I

 This past week I was able to work a bit more on the blanket and start on the sweater, which I was able to find some unused yarn from storage: Hopefully this will be enough to make the sweater. As for the blanket, I was able to crochet three more blocks of rows and start on another. I'm thinking this blanket may need two months to complete since I will mostly work on it over the weekends. Starting to look very good! Seems like it will fit the width of the bed. I also started on the long-sleeve sweater with the heather gray yarn. I restitched the collar portion three times in order to get a cleaner look. I am excited to create the rest of the sweater! The top collar was redone twice. I decided to try for a third time by making the collar at the bottom. (Took about two hours to make one collar!) Added the bottom portion of the collar. After stitching the collar ends together.
