Dec 2019 Update - Weeks 1 and 2

This past two weeks have been crazy busy with last minute decorations. But, I was able to get them done and the concert was awesome!

Project Updates:

I finally got the hat and scarf set finished! (And, I got the time to give it to my friend, who loves it!)

Some resources that I used:

When I first finished with the hat, it came out HUGE! But, luckily, I was able to downsize the hat when I gave it to her. :)

This was my process. Turns out, I made the rectangle too long.

Watching one of the inspirational videos as I crocheted.

Finished project!

Designed the scarf myself
A much smaller hat after alterations.

I found that I did not like the "Wicked Fox" novel. I started to read it, but then lost interest very quickly. The book described the setting very well, but I was not into the plot of the story.

However, the "Lifespan" book is very interesting. I am still on Chapter 1, but one question the author poses is "What if aging is a disease?" I never thought of aging that way before. I always thought it was a natural process. I look forward to reading the rest of the book.

I crocheted a few more rows in the blanket, but will need about 6 more sets of 3 rows to finish the blanket.

I also started on using the white shirts. I cut up two to make into a t-shirt. I also looked up some ideas on what I could do with the rest of the fabric. One idea is to make reusable make up pads, scrunchies, kitchen cloths, or more t-shirts.

I also got to repairing a pair of boots that during this past week, the heel broke apart!

I used the E6000 to glue it together and put it on the balcony so no fumes came inside. Hopefully, it sticks together.

Unfortunately, I let stress get the best of me, and I bought about 84 new items. I know, I know, that is significantly breaking my rule. To combat this, I would need to get rid of 420 items....

I purchased 2 Flying Tiger Surprise Bags (Shouldn't have bought them)

I tried out Fabfitfun. They sent me a starter kit, which was awesome. I am grateful with what I got. I'm not sure I will be ordering more for the time being since it will take me a while to get these products used up.

I got two red poinsettias and three pink poinsettias. They are so pretty!

This is what my friend made me! It is so cool! She even put a small plant inside <3

Items Decluttered:
I do have some items that I donated to school. So, let me start counting.

This was a bag full of paper from art kits that I have lying around (I will be using them in future month challenges). This would probably be at least 30 items?

14 items in the box donated to school. I haven't gotten rid of the pattern or zip lock bag items yet.

2 items donated to another friend. (Should I count the applicators as 100 items? Nah. I guess not. It hasn't been opened.)

4 packs of feathers donated to school (We used them for our Native American shields.)

35 items donated to school. Markers, pens, sharpeners, and erasers.

Okay, that's makes 85 items decluttered so far. Man, now I wish I didn't buy so many items. I will need to keep reminding myself that buying, especially online, is so much easier than using and maintaining items. 335 more items to declutter!
