Week 4 - January 2020

Yesterday was Chinese New Year! My fiancé and I spent the entire afternoon and evening at my family's house. So, I spent today working on some projects. I decided to work on projects that I needed to get done first. I was able to finish the bra and yoga short set as well as make an additional headband. I also finished a rilakkuma nanoblock set, and finally, I decluttered a few more items. I am starting on two additional sewing projects: one is the qipao that I need to make by this Friday for our school's Chinese New Year luncheon and the second is a set of sports bras since I am running low on them. I would like to make at least 3 more. This is about 20 items. This is 20 items. 9 items here. I am so amazed that I was able to create a set of workout clothes! More nano block sets that I need to complete in the future. And some more... The first Rilakkuma set that I completed. The next project that I will be working on as well as the qipa...

Week 3 - January 2020

I definitely broke my New Year's goals. But I will try my best for the end of the month and for the next month. I guess it was too ambitious to try to aim for the whole year, but instead, I should take it month by month, perhaps week by week or even day by day. I find that towards the second and third week of the month, I begin to splurge on small items. It all started when I went to return some items at Joanns and needed to see if I could find any fabric for our school's Chinese New Year assembly. I began to look all around for fabric, yet I couldn't resist the remnants. I lost count as to how many items I got. I even then went to the Dollar Tree and CVS to find materials for our Chinese New Year luncheon and materials for the assembly. I went over my month's budget by $33.61 and it's not even the end of the month yet. Either I am going to need to return some items or exchange them for things that I need for February. My fiancé lives on a minimal lifestyle only...

Weeks 1 and 2 - January 2020

The past two weeks since the start of 2020, I decided to give myself a break with working on some projects. However, I did declutter this weekend! (And bought some items) 5 items plus 10 other art books that I lost the photo of somewhere... (15 items total) 13 items 6 items plus 25 drawings pencils, which I forgot to take a picture of (31 items total) 4 items (counting each bundle as 1 item) 7 items That makes 70 items! (480-70 = 410 items to go) For this month, I would also like to focus on being less busy and feel better about letting things go. I bought 1 BB cream because I wanted to use my eyeliner but with a primer at the bottom. I also bought another sunscreen facial moisturizer since I realized the one I was using seems to have a harmful ingredient in it. I consider these 2 items as needs and replacement so I will not need to declutter for these 2 items. I also purchased 4 holiday items that I will be giving away this coming December. Since these ar...

January 2020 Box and Plans

HAPPY NEW YEAR! It's the start of a new year. This year for me is all about decluttering, no-buy on non-essentials, using and cherishing what I have already, and saving as much as I can. I have decided to make a big career change, and will need this year to focus on it. Thus, I will be sewing less and letting go as many sewing materials as I can (this would include mostly clothes that I have lying around waiting to be altered). I keep reminding myself that just because I'm getting rid of the sewing materials and sewing less this year does not mean I am a failure in any way. I also need to declutter because when I move from my current apartment, I do not want to have the hassle of moving so many items, or waiting until then to declutter. I believe that will get overwhelming. As I declutter, I plan to cherish and use what I already have and try to get over the mentality that I always need something new because in reality, I don't. Finally, I would like to save as muc...

Dec 2019 Week 4

Happy New Year! Here is a recap from December 2019 Challenge: Project #1 For this project, I was able to finish the denim blanket. I only needed one large minky fabric for the blanket and used 2 of the scraps to create a stuffed dog. In place of the last minky fabric, I will get rid of another fabric from my stash. Project #2 I didn't get to the glow-in-the-dark candy wrapper painting at all. Honestly, at the time I was very eager to make this, but now, I don't feel very inclined to finishing it, so I will be donating the canvas and throwing out the candy wrappers. Project #3 I was able to finish setting up for the new year and will be using it starting today. Projects #4 and #5 Like I mentioned in my earlier post, the book "Wicked Fox" wasn't very interesting to me. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to finish "Lifespan" either since it was due in the middle of the month and someone had placed a hol...
